The most important thing for a warlock to focus on is hit hit hit!
Why focus on hit, you say? Look at this way, if you're not hit capped, you're gonna miss, you're not hitting your target. If you're not hitting your target then all the spell power, haste, and crit is not gonna do a thing! So...
That being said, a warlock's hit cap is slightly different from other classes.
Here is the breakdown:
Without talents or raid make-up, hit cap for warlocks is 17% or a 446 hit rating. (Meaning a 100% chance to hit).
Also keeping in mind that your hit rating on your character sheet does not show talents or other buffs. It's your hit rating from gear only.
Not all hit has to come from gear (although eventually, it's ideal. Just so you can put those points into different talents). There are two different talents that can improve you're hit rating.
I advise all warlocks to put ALL THREE points into suppression. This effects all spells of the affliction and destruction trees. A full three points in suppression gives you 3% more to hit. Cataclysm is a DESTRUCTION ONLY spell that adds 1% of hit to each destruction spell up to 3%.
The make-up of your raid also affects your hit rating. Try not to rely heavily on this, as our group make-up usually differs from run to run .If you have a Draenei and Boomkin and (or) a Shadow priest, you can up your hit rating an extra 4% (Draenei racial talent, Improved Faerie Fire from Boomkins and Misery from Shadow Priests).
In summary, if your raid make-up is IDEAL (see above), with talent points, you only need a 263 hit rating to be capped.
If not, there are several enchants and gems that can add hit to your gear. A few of them are as follows:
Enchants -
Gloves - Precision (+20 hit)
Boots - Icewalker (+12 hit)
Weapon - Accuracy (+25 hit)
While the most popular hit gem is a yellow socket Rigid Kings Amber (+20 hit).
Still falling short? Put your cooking skills to work and cook up some Snapper Extreme! (+40 hit)
